  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hellow everyone ,
Just leases me first ever new car and after all the research it's a gen ultimate .
I want the g90 but they aren't here yet and I couldn't wait,,,,,:D anyway I want to trick it out while I have it and not be forced to buy it at the end ,,,,,,so I want to plastic dip the trim and rims a piano black and I was thinking peal off plastic so does anyone have any experience and what are the pros and cons please. I really want to trick it out while I wail for the g90 but I don't want to buy it just now,,,,,,,,,,
Be genial please ,,,,,I'm still a genses virgin

I wouldn't bother. Plastidip can look good but it seldom does and generally looks ghetto. I could see it being done as part of a larger build but simply taking a stock car on its oem suspension/oem wheels and dipping some panels will generally make your car look cheaper than it is.

Would stay away from Plasti-Dip. Peels off easy after a short while but can be a pain to get off longer you wait. Few members on here have had the trim wrapped in vinyl with really nice results. This would be your best option for the trim.

Rims I'd leave alone or powdercoat them if you want them black.

Thanks friends,,,,,the experience of others is the best insurance against future disappoint.
I never heard of vinal rap ,,,I'll look into it ,,,,,,,,,as for the trim I'm not a fan of come and having seen this turned into color that accents the body makes the entire car stand out.
As for powder coat I think a set of aftermarket rims would be a better choice as they can be resold or put on the G90 should I go that way. Anyway, there not an expensive investment .
What I'm looking for now is a mesh grill if I can to a bolt in.

Looking into three remote start from cell phone but I'm living in a dead zone and I'm not sing the advantage to keeping blue link anyway. I can get a cplu in compustar that will do more than the blue link anyway that can be removed and switched to another car ( hyundai ) without much trouble for around $600 ,,,,,
Thanks for the info ,,,,,,came out of a 04 park ave for thick car,,,,got to say the ride isn't much different but the noise level is excellent. Bey bey

i would do a vinyl wrap instead.. last longer and will look even across the whole car... google vinyl wrapped cars to get an idea

I agree with Vinyl. I wrapped my ROOF and some other details. Has not failed me yet. I will get my guy to do my hood since it take abuse from rock and other road debris.
I HIGHLY recommend going with 3M brand as it is the best quality.

There's at least one 2nd gen owner who dipped his. I can't think of his name; he's from Toronto iirc. It'll come to me.

Edit: jonjon72 is the user name. You should be able to find out/see more if you perform a search.

Are you sure? I believe it was vinyl wrapped.
