  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was trying to change the wiper blades on my 2009 4.6L sedan and couldn't figure out how to attach the new wiper blades. Eventually I took it to the dealer and we went through the schematic of the wiper system. Looks like there are little plastic ends on the ends of the metal wiper arms that are broken off. The dealer tells me the entire wiper arms need to be replaced. Does anyone have had any experience with this? I want to avoid paying hundreds of dollars for new wiper arms.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

The arm piece is all metal no plastic. If what's broken is part of the wiper that holds the blade, just replace the entire wiper and blade. Plenty of aftermarket options as well.

The arm is metal and has a sort of hook on the end. Blades have plastic inserts that fit into it. You may find exactly what you need as part of the blade and if not sure. many auto parts store will install them for free. Skip the dealer, head to Auto Zone, Advanced Auto and the like.
