  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Discount Tire just replaced a second plastic lug nut cover within the last year. It seems they don't line up all covers correctly when putting them back on and in both cases they came off they same day they did a rotation and balance. Each was around $45 but they took care of it the same day, the Dealer is only a couple of miles away. Gotta remember to remind them about this when I go back.

That is good customer service. I think most companies would claim it was not their fault, and I would bet that most Hyundai dealers would also deny any responsibility if they had removed the cover and put it back on incorrectly.

It is very easy to misalign the lug nut covers. They need to be precisely aligned with matching indentations on the wheel. Tire installers are always rushed; and often do not know this requirement.
If you want complete assurance, remove the lug nut covers yourself before you visit the tire shop. Learn to install them.
If this is too much, learn to check the installers' work. The lug nut covers should fit snugly with no "give" when hit with an open fist.
