  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello!

I recently purchased a 2020 G70 and wanted to verify something. It looks like there is shockingly not a voice command to play a specific song from my iPod, is that correct? In my 2016 Lexus I just had to say "Play song *whatever*" and it would tune to the song on my iPod, but the 2020 G70 doesn't have that feature?

Seems like a weird miss to me, can someone confirm?

Thanks!

This is something I discovered when I was looking at the E G80. Siri was available on my previous car, and as I understand it was available on previous generation Genesis cars. However now the only method is to plug the phone into the appropriate USB, thereby activating Car play or Android auto.
I plan on purchasing one of the Wireless adaptors that are available, which plug's into the car and then wirelessly connects to the phone.
Meantime for iPhone (not sure about Android) there is a 'sort of' work around. If you have your phone open and within a close enough proximity, you can say 'Hey Siri' and select a song that way.

Dang, that's a bummer. The car has all the bells and whistles except for one that I saw Peyton Manning doing a commercial for in a Buick over 10 years ago

It's not that big a deal. I just got this for my Android phone: MA1 - Wireless car adapter for Android Auto from Motorola Sound Great piece of kit! It's so popular that it's sold out at a lot of online sellers. Some outlets are jacking up the price to $125 or more. I absolutely love being able to stream lossless HD and UltraHD from Amazon Music Unlimited via BT wireless. There are a few tracks that have the option of streaming in Dolby Atmos - fantastic ambience!

Yeah, AMU has Alexa built-in, which I do use occasionally, although I usually have it turned OFF most of the time.

Ehh trust me it’s a bit of a deal when you were used to it and used it all of the time for the last 4-5 years but it is what it is. Ah well

I have a similar device. Im using carlinkit A2A for wireless Android auto and everything is okay.

True. A lot depends on what you are used to. I know some folks that talk to their Siri/Alexa/etc. all day long.

Pretty wide range. Mostly contemporary jazz and some classical. I also like some rock, but mainly a few select artists, that curiously all ended up tilting towards a bit of jazz vibe when they get older, like Mark Knopfler and Sting. I'm not opposed to any genre. For instance, I found the Mongolian metal band The HU immensely listenable. I would even occasionally - very occasionally - part-take in some rap, if the material catches my fancy, like The Afroman.

In a car cabin, I like female vocals the best, as they tend to punch through the road noise and showcase a good car audio system's soundstage and stereo image. Diana Krall is my favorite. The timbre in her voice is intoxicatingly mesmerizing to listen to. FWIW, the highest bit rate UltraHD I've found on Amazon Music thus far is Norah Jones' Don't Know Why, at 24-bit/192kHz. Not all BT wireless can process that bitrate. Some will downconvert to lesser bitrate, like 24-bit/48kHz.
