  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

getting REAL tired of this pop up ad from ST Lucia hotel crap... gotta get rid of it dude !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YES, AMEN! Didn't it get hit this week by a hurricane anyway? Ditch the ad!

I thought it was just my computer that had the problem!! Ditch it!!

it is pretty obtrusive

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Very irritating and persistent! Scrap this piece of crap.: mad:

Ads? Oh, you guys must be running IE or something...

I have Firefox and still get the damn St. Lucia add. It HAS to go! Makes this forum intolerable.

I suspect it's a javascript popup - your popup blockers won't stop that unless you disable javascript, but that's not going to leave you with a very exciting web experience...

1. For sure, because of this ad, I will not visit St. Lucia. They want to be a PITA, I don't have to visit them.

2. I just hit the Esc button to get rid of it. Yes, it comes back but as soon as I see that the St. Lucia ad is coming, I hit the Esc tab, and it goes away until the next time.

very very annoying... and members are told they get reduced ad exposure...
there are days I don't visit the site due to the thought of this ad...

Guys. Try hitting Escape as suggested as soon as you see or hear it. I agree - it's annoying - but as mentioned, I don't get to choose the network ads. If we had a few more advertisers here, we wouldn't need the ad networks. Unfortunately, we have very few supporting vendors - and traffic keeps going up.

Now.. Supporting Members should NOT be seeing this Saint Lucia ad. Try logging out and logging back in again. As a supporter, this ad should not be seen by you. Let me know if logging out and logging back in again helps. You may even need to clear your GenesisOwners.com cache and cookies...

You can tell the advertiser that their ad is so annoying, that they would be the last company I would even look at even if I were interested in going to their advertised spot. All I do when I go on our site is to erase it every time without looking at it. How they think they get anything out of their pop up crap is beyond me. If the object of the exercise is to force us to become paid members, I might consider it just to get rid of this piece of sh*t pop up ad. I would think that they are annoying all members, so what's the point? Just my 2 cents.

Ads come and go so this Saint Lucia ad won't last forever. Especially if nobody is clicking it. Otherwise, I'm still concerned about Supporting Members even seeing this ad at all.

I don't get the ad if I am logged on, however if I want a quick view of "Today's Posts", I get the obnoxious ad too.

I cleared my cache and no longer see any of those ads...

not entirely on subject.. but if you allowed an "opt in" for supporting members, there are ad types I might want to 'accept'.....

Any ad which is specific to the Genesis or even Equus I would opt in to for example.......

The opt-in idea is a really good one.. Some of the ads are very informative and helpful. I'll have to think about that and possibly request some type of modification to make this possible.

In the meantime, I'm glad to hear that clearing your cache removed that annoying ad. Of course, it removed the other ads as well.

Any Supporting Member still seeing ads simply needs to clear their GenesisOwners.com cache - and that should fix the issue...
