  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone, this weekend I plan on doing all 4 wheels rotors and pads as they’re due, As I was driving the other night I heard the rotors making metal on metal contact to find the driver rear rotor is scored with just one singular line. Also un even brake pad wear, it’s now metal on metal. I do have reason to believe just the sliding pins are seized, As there’s no burning smell or nothing or excessive brake dust coming from the caliper its self. I could be wrong buuut I’m wondering if anyone else has had this and it was just the slide pins and not the entire caliper.

Yes, a stuck slide pin is the most common cause of that exact problem. You caught it just in time before it cooked the caliper. When you do the job, clean the bracket grooves and pins really well, use fresh grease, and you should be good. Always replace the pins if they're pitted.

Sweet Awesome to know I don’t have to go through the pain of bleeding the entire system and replacing the caliper. Will definitely clean em up completely and throw on grease for them, ill probably do the other side as well just to be safe. Thanks a lot!!

Glad to hear it. Cleaning and greasing the other side is smart prevents the same issue. Good luck with the job.
