  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone. I'm currently considering trading in my 07 Civic Si Sedan for the Genesis Coupe 2.0. I'm tired of the transmission problems and horrible paint quality (among other things). As of now, my current candidates for a trade in are either the Genesis Coupe or the Mazdaspeed 3. So, I would like to know the common issues that you all know about the Genesis. I realize this is a Genesis forum, but I'd still like to hear some relatively unbiased opinions so that I may make a wise decision. Thanks!!

I've not driven the Civic Si but have driven both the Mazdaspeed 3 and Genesis Coupe. I drive a 4.6 2010 Genesis Sedan and chose it because I ultimately decided that a sedan was more to my liking than a hatchback or coupe.

What car to buy depends on your priorities. Both the G-Coupe and Speed 3 are great cars. I found the Coupe to perform excellently and offer a more "refined" ride and appearance. The Speed 3 is an unqualified blast to drive with head snapping acceleration and unreal handling. If you want comfort and style with performance available when you need it, the Coupe would be for you. If you want a fun driving experience (not necessarily comfortable) then the Speed 3 is probably be the best for you. I think the Speed 3 would be the closest in size and performance to your Si.
