  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
Previously my car was hit on the driver door area: First accident after 3 years of ownership :(
This week it was finally fixed and returned to me. According to the invoice they replaced the entire door shell. I soon noticed an issue with my left front window, I suspect the switch was not installed correctly. When I pull the switch to raise the window all the way up sometimes it doesn't move, and sometimes it goes all the way down. It works fine when I hold the switch in the middle position.
I'm gonna contact them the first thing Monday morning. Has anyone here seen anything like this?

There is a way to reset the window. Don't know it that is the issue but simple enough to try.
To reset the power windows
If the power windows do not operate
normally, the automatic power window
system must be reset as follows:
1. Place the Engine Start/Stop button
to the ON position.
2. Close the window and continue
pulling up on the power window
switch for at least one second.
If the power windows do not operate
properly after resetting, have the
system checked by an authorized
retailer of Genesis Branded products.

Thanks for the tip, I tried today but it doesn't seem to work.
I read my owner's manual and suspect it has something to do with "automatic reverse" feature. Since the malfunction happens only when the “Auto Up” feature is used and sometimes it goes down when I pull up.

It may be encountering some resistance as it tries to go up. You'd have to take the door panel off to inspect it.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
If the body shop had to replace the window regulator, it has to be calibrated for the auto up position or it will come back down partially when the window closes. If this is the case, take it back to them and have them fix this. The regulator has to be taken back loose to do the calibration.

Just wanted to thank you for sharing this!
Got my car back from getting a new transmission and the passenger front window would not go down.
Tried this, and it worked like a charm.
Saved me a trip back to the shop!
