Power windows not working

Noticed this morning that NONE of the power windows switches are working in my 2021 GV80. The seat memory buttons don't work on the drivers door but the child lock button does. Door locks work on every door but the drivers door. Manual shows that RH and LH windows are controlled by different fuses. Seems odd for them to both blow at the same time. Dealer can't get me in for 2 weeks. Anyone had this problem before?

The common factor is possibly the CAN bus that controls all that stuff, and maybe some electronic modules that they may have in common.

Time to find a different dealer/car company. Even if they can't get to it for a couple of weeks, they should take it and give you a loaner. That is the luxury car experience. Waiting two weeks to get in when your windows don't work is not even Yugo territory.

Went to lunch and everything worked just fine! Ate lunch and then only the drivers front window would work from the drivers arm panel. No locks but the mirror would still work. All other buttons on the rest of the doors worked fine. Gave the door panel a firm bump with my leg and EVERYTHING WORKED. Hope this is not a sign of things to come. I love this vehicle and need it to last a long time!

Not another dealer with 100 miles of me so unfortunately I have to deal with what I have. I knew this going in to the purchase. They only have 1 loaner car and they say it can only be out for the day, no overnight loans!!

I would complain to Genesis about the dealer. Genesis has an interest in having its dealers meet standards and I can't believe this does that. But...I don't know where you are and maybe the community is so small that the dealer can't support any more loaners.

At least your driver window is working. That is the most important one. If it doesn't get bad again, you can limp along until your appointment.

Incidentally, loaners are a standard component of luxury car dealers. That is one of the key features that separates luxury car marks from standard marks. There is a lesson to be learned here: check out the service and loaner policies of the dealership and check reviews on the dealership as well. Also do the same check on a few other marks that could compete. IMO, competition drives performance.

2 weeks is nothing!
My drivers side headlight went out. No light, no turn signal!
Dealer gave me 3 month wait for appointment. Called another and got in within 3 weeks, and new headlight within 10 days later.
As bad as #2 was, I officially dumped #1, my selling dealer.
(FWIW, #1 75 miles away; #2 80 miles away)

Are you still intermittently having the issue with the windows/locks/presets on the driver's side door? I recently purchased a used GV80 and the car seems to be having the exact same issue. If you had it addressed, what was the fix?

I still just give it a bump when it isn't working. Out of warranty so I really don't want to have to pay to get it looked at unless I have to.

Thanks for the feedback. Bumping the door doesn't seem to make much of a difference for me. It definitely comes and goes, but can't figure out a pattern. It's weird that no matter what the mirrors and child lock button are never affected - just windows, lock, and memory reset buttons. Curious if anyone has any ideas considering those symptoms. I just bought a 2021 GV80 with 17k miles, so I still have 2 years and plenty of miles left of bumper to bumper. I will have it serviced under warranty (at some point) and report back with what they find.

Got a 2021 gv80 and it started doing this a month ago, intermitent. Also the side view mirrors may not fold on lock command.

Just as an update, I did learn how to gently tap the door with my knee and it comes back every time. I haven't have it serviced yet, but hope to find out the fix soon...

The tech said he just did the exact same fix on a GV80 a month or so ago - same symptoms, same fix. The harness was not at the dealership - supposed to arrive in about 4 weeks and I will go back for service. I'll let everyone know if the fix works.

I had the same thing happen to my 2022 GV80 yesterday for the first time. Googled the problem which brought me to this thread, I nudged the panel just below the window controls and all lit up and worked again. I just went over 3 years and 30

In my case I have to drive 65 miles to the nearest dealership. I usually have to wait about 2-3 weeks to get a loaner, and their dealership is pretty large. BUT when the car gets there, it's not uncommon for it to sit for SEVERAL weeks, because this huge dealership (that sells BMW, Mercedes, Hyundai, Mazda and Lexus, but they only have 2 (TWO) Genesis certified techs. It used to be that I could take it one to the Hyundai dealership but they have NO Gen Certified techs. Last time my g90 sat for 5 weeks- they gave me a loaner fortunately, but when I picked up my car, the passenger side front window was cracked. This was over a year ago. I've been waiting for a replacement for over a year bc they are backordered and out of supply. My window tint is literally holding it together and I can't roll it down. About 2 months ago they told me that ONE would be coming from Korea, but there were 19 dealerships wanting it, and I didn't get it. Safelite, no one can get one, and they don't make an aftermarket one. Now, like an idiot, I have 2 Genesis. I bought a GV80.... don't know what I was thinking. They do give me a loaner- but I do have to wait- then I wait for the service. It's ridiculous. Tonight, the power windows and sunroof are not working (after 3 days of a TREMENDOUS rain storm). Not sure if something got wet- but I've pulled all of the related fuses and nothing is blown. Not sure what to do, but I'll be looking at 8-10 weeks before it can get in and back out again- and I hope it doesn't get damaged. I'm going back to Mercedes and Lexus (Lexus BY FAR has the best customer experience of anything out there. You can pull in with a 2002 Rx350 with 300k miles on it and they will hand you a brand new loaner, no questions asked. It's a tremendous experience). Genesis- not so great.

Thank you. I literally had the same issue this morning, banged on the interior flat facing door handle under the switches while I was driving And IT WORKS AGAIN!! I was skeptical but said, what the hell! Fixed for now!

True, but that doesn't include the 3 hours it takes to get the door panel off to get to the loose pin, fix the other things that broke in that process, and then put it all back together. Still better than waiting on a harness and a dealership appointment.

022 GV70 here..Power windows seem to do the same thing, but it seems to be random..For a while, shutting the car right off, and restarting it brought them back to life..Now when it occurs, opening and closing the driver's door seems to work..No codes, and of course it never happens at the dealership, so they really don't have anything to work with..For now, I'm going to rely on the door open/close solution, but winter is coming..I have an appointment in 3 weeks, so I will bring it up again, but I am not optimistic..
