Premium 9.2" Nav System (2015 5.0 Ultimate)

This may be addressed somewhere else, but I was wondering if anybody knows why the Android Auto update didn't apply to the 9.2" Nav System on the 2015 Genesis?

I have been told software and licensing agreement issues from different dealers and sales reps. I call BS on the software not being compatible I would go with them not wanting to pay for the licensing agreement.

of course it BS the g80 sport has the same screen as on the 2015 genesis and it has apple carplay and android auto

How do you know it has the same screen? Does it have the same part number? I suspect that all you really know is that it has the same SIZE screen. What do you know about the firmware behind it?

The screens have nothing to do with it. BTW, the 2015 ultimate has the same part # screen as the G80 Sport. BUT, it receives signal from the head unit. That is where the problem lies. The head unit in the ultimate is made by LG, while the head units in the non Ultimate are made by Mobis, which is Hyundai. If anything, blame LG for being either cheap, or being a little behind in the technology game.

The DIS 2.0 system used in the 2015 Genesis is not Android-based, it runs Meego (click me). In fact, it's not even based on ARM, but instead based on the Intel Atom. So not only is it a completely different operating system, it's also a completely different CPU. Hope this helps.

A salvage is probably your best bet, although that's a big gamble. There's a good chance there are other changes. That being said, if you find one and get it working, then good on you!!
