  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi, I scraped my alloy wheel on a curb. The new cost for a front 19" allow wheel, ultimate type, in rip-off England is £972, about $1250. That's one wheel.
Anyone know the cost of a new alloy in the USA for comparison?

cheers
Nick

Buy the wheel from Korea for $250. I'm sure the shipping will cost a lot. Have the wheel refinished as somebody else said.

The wheel can be brought back to new by refinishing. I doubt the dealer will do this however it's worth a shot. Go to the local wheel dealer in your area and ask. A new wheel at the dealer is around $1300, refinishing probably around $200 or less. Search on line as there are even places that come to your door. http://tirebutler.com/rim-repairs/.

I had purchased 4 wheels however they arrived damaged from delivery. Had them recoated to another color. Came out better than the originals so I had the other 4 done the same way. Sanding, a little filler if required, paint and a clear coat. See here.
