I'm very interested in buying a new G80 Sport but am meeting resistance in trying to negotiate a price. They are barely budging. I have bought many new cars over the years and have always been able to get a price reduction of several thousand. Genesis says they don't negotiate on new model issuances. What has been your experience?

I don't live in Canada, nor do I have a G80 Sport purchased in USA, but generally you would have to wait awhile longer until there is bigger supply of them before they start dropping prices. But if demand outstrips supply, then it make take a longer time for dealers to be willing to negotiate.

Even though it’s a new car I was able to get 3k of the price in America in the first week it came out. Now you should aim for at least a 10% discount and make sure your talking to multiple dealers

Genesis Motors Canada does not discount their vehicles as they operate under an "all-in" pricing model. The price is $62,000 + provincial/federal levies + GST. As the cars are not owned by the agency but by Genesis Motors Canada itself, the agency cannot discount the vehicle unless it is a demo they are getting rid of or if there is a clearout incentive (e.g. 2017 G80s).

If you are currently a Hyundai owner you may qualify for a small loyalty incentive; otherwise you are paying full price for the time being as the car just came out.
