I have a 2011 2.0T with 6k on it - pretty much brand new, still smells like new car inside... I have a similar issue. If the car is not at a dead stop, it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get it into first gear without placing roughly 40 lbs of force on the shift knob to thunk it into gear while simply rolling at 5-10 km/h..WTF?!. I dont like doing this because I know its not normal and I dont want to break my car. My 1993 honda civic rust bucket with 280k shifted smoother than this vehicle!
Second gear is also very very difficult to get into gear as well when the car is either a) cold, or b) moving at any speed over 30 km/hour. Due to this , I sometimes find myself rolling into intersections struggling to get the car into gear and almost getting hit by other oncoming traffic because the car should have been in gear 5 seconds before it actually gets into gear which leaves me hanging and rolling through intersections at times while other drivers give me strange looks as though I don't know how to drive properly... Very fun.
I told Hyundai of Richmond Hill about this problem and they had the service manager test drive it. They of course said they don't see anything wrong with it but they have "documented it". Funny how as soon as I drove the vehicle off the dealership driveway I immediatley experienced the issue right off the bat lol. I'd like to also mention that the service manager ripped the heck out of my vehicle while test driving it since the mileage went up from 9.0litres/100 km to 10.5l/100 km and he only drove it 8 km's... WTF? Thanks very much for that Hyundai Richmond Hill. Much appreciated
Finally, Hyundai of Richmond Hill in Ontario sold me the car with unbalanced tires and even with only 6k on the car refuse to balance them for me without charging me... again, WTF?! 6k on the car and you wont balance the tires you sold me that were not balanced to begin with so now I have to drive with a "performance" vehicle I cant take over 100 km/h or else it rumbles violently - nice!
Sadly dissapointed with the service / performance / mechanics of a production vehicle that is now in its 4th year of production - would think they would have ironed out the kinks by now...guess not..
