  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Saw this comment on YouTube the other day, from a UK GV60 owner. Does anyone know if this feature exists in the US model?

I’m in the UK and have a fully spec’d GV60 Premium ( RWD version) - another cool thing from the outside - is the reverse lights project two rows of dotted lines onto the road (more easily visible at night) indicating to other road users your intended reversing particularly if perpendicular reversing.

The actual YouTube video that was being commented on: 2024 Genesis GV60 Performance AWD Review

Genesis calls them Rear Guide Lamps. See depiction below. I can't say for sure, but I suspect that US DOT regulations don't permit them. DOT has never been very receptive to creative exterior lighting in cars; they usually lag EU regulators by 5-10 years. Remember, DOT required sealed beam headlights until 1984

Thanks!

That's really cool - I wish all cars had those.
Not the GM cars that turn on the reverse lights just because they have just been unlocked or just parked.

Reverse lights should only be on when in reverse.

Not seen the video, but if he is saying it is for pedestrian safety then he is wrong, very wrong. The lights are guides for the driver when reversing and could be considered an extension of the reversing lights (though those are partly for pedestrian warning).

But the documentation for it as shown in the screenshot in a previous post literally says it's for the benefit of other vehicles and pedestrians.

I'll stand corrected - there is nothing in the user manual, just gone through the electronic version and the only reference is just to the reversing lights themselves.
Suspect it's listed as such (picture above) as the marks are projected by the reversing lights themselves.

I couldn't find it either in the e-manual version from other regions. Do you yourself have the feature? It sounds like it's not at all obvious unless it's very dark, so I question how much value it adds.

Yes, but I think I also had it on my Lexus (can't actually remember).
