Proper command using Amazon Echo to enter/send a destination to car's nav?

Genesis and my Amazon Echo are connected, but I'm having trouble getting Echo to understand my command. I'm specially interested in knowing how to give a find destination command so that it will go to the car's nav system. Every time I ask Echo to tell Genesis to find a given address, Echo comes back not understanding the command...and its leading me to Help, doesn't help either. I'm pretty sure that I need to know the exact verbal command...word for word. Thanks.

I've never used it but according to Genesis owners website you can start doing this,
"You can say "Alexa, ask Genesis for 'help'" to receive help and hear available commands. You can also say "Alexa, ask Genesis for help with Remote Start", for example, to hear instructions on a particular feature."

You are quite right about asking for help, which I have done. However, there is no help giving the correct syntax when asking Genesis to find a destination. I have tried "Alexa, ask Genesis to find a destination," and Alexa, ask Genesis to find a given address." All to no avail as Alexa comes back saying she's having trouble processing command, or doesn't understand it, or how to get help.

I always found it a PITA even to start the car. I use the Send to Car feature on the app and that is very reliable. Especially for a business as you just start typing in the name and it will pop up.

That's what I use too, it works flawlessly.

I don’t think you can send destinations with Echo. Any reason you think you can? It’s a limited set of commands.

I had to use Genesis Connected help to set up Echo with Genesis with the purpose in mind of using Echo to broadcast travel directions to the G70. Because of being able to send directions through the net, I had assumed that we should be able to do the same via Echo. Unfortunately, you may be right. I should have an answer to this issue when I contact G-Connected on Monday...unless someone on the forum has an answer.

I believe you are correct. Bad assumption. I think the syntax and the level of accuracy for voice recognition for addresses makes it virtually impossible. Stick with the simple commands.

I'd be subject to a sin tax trying to get the syntax right. My PIN starts with a Zero. It will not accept "zero four two four". It has to be "zero four hundred twenty four".

I doubt that, the google service from the mirror button in the vehicle works perfectly for giving addresses.

The limitation is that amazon is not a search engine, nor has it ever advertised to be, the echo has a very limited set of skills designed around home automation, where the google home device is designed around the google search engine and has access to all the google features.

The google assistant via the google home device and genesis app does very well at sending addresses and POI’s to the cars internal gps, it is listed as a feature for the app on googles website:

However it is NOT listed as a feature of the echo app, as I said because echo is not connected to a search engine

Yes I believe you are correct, I didn’t think it through. Not in echo’s skil set.

Hey Mr.I, where were you when I was knocking my head against the wall trying to figure why Echo wasn't following my wishes (LOL). So, it seems that it will be my computer or my wife's iphone that will do the travel directions broadcasting. Ah, how lazy can I get...

Why don’t you just use the Genesis app on your own phone before you leave or the button on your G70 mirror while you are driving?

Same here, but I just don't want to be looking (or carrying stuff in my pocket) at the damn thing every time I have a question about something. Spend enough time on the computer as it is.

Get a google home device. Problem solved.

I have a cheap old cell (LG G3) at the house that I use to control the house automation. It is only on my Wifi and has no SIM.

Works great for me.
