  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Proposed Class Action Suit?

How do I get added to this list if not too late? I have a 2017 G80 that I’m leasing and just experienced the implosion of the sunroof while driving. I called the local Hyundai dealer and they told me to bring it to an Auto Glass shop. I would think Genesis would warranty this service, since I’m still on my 2nd year of my lease.

I had the car towed, and left with an out of pocket expenses for a rental car. Thought anyone?

Thanks
Is the Hyundai dealer also a Genesis dealer? Perhaps you should have called Roadside Assistance and they should have take the car to a Genesis dealer or where the dealer told them to take it.

As for warranty coverage, that depends on the reason for the shatter. If a kid tossed a rock off the overpass it would be covered under your comprehensive insurance. If it broke like many others from stress, it would be a warranty claim. You probably would also get a loaner.

As for the class action lawsuit, until settled and agreed to by the court it is just legal proceeding and you are entitled to nothing yet.

Thanks for the reply. I called the #on the class action notice and the spokeswoman confirmed my 2017 G80 is not eligible to participate in the lawsuit, although it suffered the same sunroof explosion as several of the Hyundai models listed.

The local Hyundai dealer (no loner a stocking Genesis and not where I purchased) is working with me on reimbursements for my out of pocket expenses. I pickup the car tomorrow from the shop, Hyundai wants photos to ensure sunroof is back to factory specs. Will keep you posted. Thanks
