Proud new owner of a 2009 4.6 TAU /tech

Hi Everyone,

I picked up a black on black 2009 Genesis 4.6 about 2 weeks ago. I have been wanting one for a few years but was hesitant about it.

After 2 weeks, I can honestly say "what a car". Powerful, Comfortable and sleek.

I have a couple things to get done that are under warranty.

1. Drivers door unlock button doesnt work (passenger is fine)
2. Fog lights don't come on (even though the indicator on the hud comes on)

Anything I need to watch out for around the 45-50k Mile mark?

Better look into the Hyundai Protection Plan platinum warranty. Not sure if the US version of the warranty will work there in Canada, but if it does, Jim Ellis Hyundai in Atlanta has one of the best prices around.

In regards to the extended warranty, i have the balance of the 5/60 (14 mos) and its a cpo so I get another year 20000 km after that.

That being said, I only drive about 10000 km a year (6200 mi). So I don't anticipate any premature aging. Thanks for the warm welcome and i will definitely be active on here.

I had a 2007 Saturn aura XR before this and was quite active on saturnfans.com for along time.

make sure the brake fluid TSB is performed.

Thanks for heads up Veed.
had them do the Dot-3 to Dot-4 swap.
Also had them order replacement drivers door handle and 2 fog light bulbs.
All under the 5/60k. Will also get an alignment done at there seems to be a slight vibration in the wheel at 80+ mph.

Driveshaft shudder. Yours may need to be replaced if you feel a slight shudder from stop to 20 mph during gard acceleration. Dealer will replace with new beefier design shaft. This was common on early 2009 4.6. Happens a lot on high hp engines from Cadillac to Mercedes etc.
