  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey!

I'm new to this group and happy to be here. I've been reading the forum pages for a while now and greatful for all the usefull help and information!

I've traded in my 2001 Lexus IS300 (1 inch Eibach lowering springs, Espiler exhaust, SRT intake) for the Genesis....... Man... Of all the cars (high end) I've test driven.... I couldn't believe the experience driving this car gave me....FOR THE COST!!!

I was looking into getting a Merc C300, or BMW 328, but saw the obvious benefits of the Genesis.

I'm debating "tricking" this thing and not wanting to null my warranty at the same time..... Time will tell...

Very nice, congrats! Which model did you end up with?

Thanks!

I got a 4.6 Black on Black, with the brown inlay. I've seen some comments here from people that don't like the brown-black contrast. I love it!! I like how the brown breaks up the black in the dash and the seats, and with my windows tinted, it adds a much more elegant/trendy feeling to the car!

Ah yeah, I like that color combo as well. Congrats again. :)

Nice, I am trying to get that color combo myself, but there seems to be a problem getting any car with a saddle interior of any kind.

I actually found the car, after being mis-treated at another dealership. At the time I was looking into getting a 3.8. I had a feeling the Dealer was "over-charging" me, and I didn't appreciate the fact that he kept "stringing" me on for more than 2 weeks with promisies of "looking after me" and "giving me a good deal." I'm on the road a lot, so I didn't have as much time as I wished.

Anyway long story short. My instincts were correct, and I found a 4.6 Tech for the same price as what the original dealer wanted for his "demo 3.8". It worked out that it was black with the saddle dash!!!!

I'm very happy with my car and my decision! Hope you find one, id suggest by using "autotrader" or just calling around yourself. If you were to ask the dealer, I'm sure they'll tell you that the only vehicles available are the ones in their showroom! :)

Welcome aboard, proffunk! Thank you for signing up and congratulations on your new Hyundai Genesis!

The best color for large sedans is true black. When clean, nothing looks better. Here in SoCal the sun and heat is an issue. Also keeping a black car clean is like chasing a 2 year old around, it's never ending maintenance, I got tired of it. Last week, I saw a black 4.6 with wing badges front and back, color matched aftermarket rims & tires and dark tint front and back. It was really clean. It looked very similar to your profile picture. I wanted to take a pic but didn't have my phone, BLAST!

I actually ended up with the same color combo as you and I agree keeping a black car clean is impossible. A silver car on the other hand is much easier to maintain, especially in 100+ degree Dallas, TX.

Yeah it feels like I’m relentlessly cleaning it, for it to only get dirty within the hour, LOL

The photo I have in my “Avtar” is the DUB edition. Check this link for the article & photo

My car is the same color with surrounding legal tints (20% in rear window) with 20inch matching black rims.....I used the dub photo as inspiration for my mods.

The dub has 22 inch rims (too large) and has been lowered an inch…which I’m debating on doing, but Id hate to compromise the ride quality any more than I have already with the rims.

I’m on the road at the moment, so I’ll do my best to get some photos up ASAP!

Sweet, I'd like to see some pics. FYI, to keep mine clean, i use the jumbo California Duster, then I follow it up with Meguiar's Spray detailer and a microfiber towel, every other day or 2. Works great for keeping that just from the car wash look. I went 2 months w/o having to wash it.

I went in to the dealer for an oil change on my 2006 Azera with some feeling that I might trade on a V6 Genesis with or without tech. I was hoping to find a light blue V6 since I think it is stunning in that color.

They had only 3 V6 Genesis on the lot, two black and one midnight blue. One V6 even had a cooled driver's seat, which I understand is rare. I absolutely will not own a black or midnight blue car in the Austin, Texas heat, so I started to leave. They pulled the silver V8 tech out of the showroom and I took a test drive, only to be hooked.

I have about 600 miles on the car and I absolutely love it. As an old fighter pilot (F86), I love power and handling. The suspension is firm, but I have not yet found a piece of pavement that causes it to lose its composure, including some spots that confounded the Azera suspension. I would rather have firm than sloppy.

I've always loved black cars, and with the extreme weather we have in Canada... It's probably not the best choice!

Thanks for the tips! But within the area I live in, there’s lots of dust and debris...

One of the things I noticed right away when I visited Cali, is that everything looks soo much cleaner and newer.. The roads look pristine, and everybody’s car’s (no matter how banged up they are) look great!

I think its just that our weather up here sucks, requiring me to wash 2 times a week..LOL
