  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Normal operation of the driver's door button is one push unlocks driver's door only, two pushes unlocks all doors. My 2010 Owner's Manual (p 4-7) says:

"An authorized HYUNDAI dealer can change the system to unlock all doors by one [push of] the button in the driver's outisde door handle. If you want this feature, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer."

I don't want to bother going in if this can be done yourself. Does anyone else have an experience with this, either DIY or dealer?

I once considered doing this, but decided it only takes me one second longer to unlock all doors, so I left it as is. I only want my dealer service department (which is great) to work on important things.

I have no idea exactly how its done, but on other cars, you could do it with the fob. Maybe you can ask/watch the dealer do it and report back?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
My dealer a.) tried to talk me out of it (saying it was a security risk), b.) wanted to see where in the owner's manual it said that they could reprogram it, and c.) had to call the Hyundai Tech Line to figure out how to do it. But at the end of the day, they got it done. No idea how they did it.

So much nicer with passengers (especially those who are quick to pull the handles before you can hit the button twice). The prox reprogramming doesn't affect the fob behavior (i.e. if you want to unlock via the remote, you still have to push the fob unlock button twice to open all doors even after the handle button is changed to unlock all).

I read this in the manual too, how much did the dealership charge you? I thought they can immediately just hook my car up to their computer and change some codes but they told me i still had to set up an appointment.

They didn't charge me anything, although I was there for another warranty issue as well as a scheduled oil change.

Well, I took my car to have the dealer do this. Shortly, he comes back and says: "I called our field engineer for Hyundai and he says the owner's manual is wrong. That feature is not enabled on the Genesis." I said that the engineer was wrong, as I knew of other Genesis owners for whom the dealer had made the change. No satisfaction offered. So no point in going back to my dealer in Rockford, IL until I can tell him something more. Does anyone have any info that might help? In particular, what dealer(s) have done this?
