  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Considering purchase of 2011 Equus Signature and need thoughts and experiences of others. First, so far, the two dealers in my area (Las Vegas) have been less than impressive. They are used to selling lower priced cars and have no idea how to deal with a high-end customer. Its really not necessary to do the salesman, manager two step on customers like us. Also, I am a little worried about how few cars they have sold here. I don't want to spend this kind of money and wind up with some type of odd duck car that nobody supports. Any thoughts on eventual resale value if the cars do not catch on? I think not establishing a separate dealer and service network was a big mistake. What price should I be offering considering its model end and they have not sold many cars? Thanks in advance.

Could always lease if you are worried about resale. Here in the midwest the 2011s are being discounted pretty aggressively I think without much trouble you can get one for 52k

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
You make a good point when talking about the ODD DUCK down the road and will you be able to get parts etc. I suggest either lease the Equus, or buy a Genesis. Sure the resale price will be less then MB or BMW, but your paying a lot less up front and the money your saving is earning interest. So my thoughts are lease the Equus, or buy the top of the line Genesis.

Having just purchased the Equus Ultimate and trading in the Genesis, I have to say there is a significant difference between the cars and IMHO, the higher price is worth it!
These cars are a bargin. I paid about $58K with the $1500 loyal customer rebate. The signature is going for about $52 with the same rebate.
If you don't need a 5 seater, I strongly suggest he Ultimate. I am using and enjoying the additional features, such as the refrigerator, power trunk, power side shades and the reclining rear seat. My kids think they are taking a limo to school each morning. The front camera is a bit silly and not useful.
All I can say is I am completely satisfied with my purchase and choice.

As a % of purchase price, resale on the Equus is likely to be better than the S Class and 7 Series since the German flagships have considerably higher MSRPs and less people are willing to take a chance on such expensive German models (when it comes to repair/maintainance costs out of warranty).

Would you be willing to invest in separate Genesis/Equus dealership? They would have to add $5K to the price of the cars to support such a network, and there would be a lot fewer such dealers than Hyundai dealers. Chances are they would all go bankrupt, due to the cost of such an effort.

For Equus owners, they will pick up and deliver you car whenever it needs service. This saves you the trouble of having to wear a disguise if you might otherwise be seen at a Hyundai dealer.
