  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My starting problems is getting worse. It started with ocasioal key 'not detected' to;,now having to hold the fob against the start ring. Tha start action seems to be taking more time between starts. I fear the problem finally leaves me stranded. Any thoughts on which relay, etc usually causes this issue?

Have you replaced the battery?

Bought a batery (Hyundai) at dealer and it was found to be defective. Went to dealersand was given a new one not too long ago. I think I'll go back later today. Thanks for the thought!

I had the same problem with my fob. It will die after a few month. I bought an energizer battery at target store not in amazon or online. It has been over 2 years and still working.

Yes, we found that the key fob battery has to have full voltage for it to work properly. A little bit low battery won't get it.

Also, you can start the car with a completely dead key fob battery by inserting the key fob into that little opening just below the CD loading slot.

Oh. That's interesting. I guess a brand new key fob battery is the only option.
