  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Quad tips on G70

From what I've read and seen so far, the Agency Power intake seems to be sealed off from the engine bay the best out of all the intakes, all while holding higher flow filters than the others. Gonna be using one on my car.

Does LAP3 allow for only water injection? Or is it just water+meth as a combo?

I really like their downpipes. Gonna see if they can fabricate them using my own catalytic converter.

Does one tip sit further out than the other? If so is it backward? Where you would want the longer on on the inside and the the shorter on the outside

Just how i personally wanted it the other way wouldve looked weird af lol

No it doesnt only allow water injection, just go here and read up :LAP3 Pro-Tuner - 3.3T-GDI (Stinger & G70) | LAP3

I've read it, and it doesn't clarify water injection, which is why I asked. Personally I don't like methanol. I've read a study where they compared straight water injection to water/meth. They took apart engines after testing them in the same conditions. While the water+meth combo made more power, the pistons, rings, bearings, and valves showed significantly more scoring/damage than water alone. Evidently methanol is pretty volatile, despite its high octane rating; which, in theory, would result in less longetivity than water injection alone.

LAP3 certainly is a nice system, but I think you get a little more flexibility with the JB4. Only advantages I see for LAP3 are ease of install, and ability to remove o2 sensor errors. Those aren't worth twice the cost for me.

Just seems more difficult to install/use
Looks like it connects to the exact same spots. MAP & TMAP sensors. OBD II cable is only needed if you want to log and keep tweaking.

It doesn't need fuel wires, though, so it's a bit easier to install I think...

...but, at the same time, I'm beginning to like the fuel wires idea. This way the JB4 gets a direct reading from the O2 sensors to get really accurate AFRs in real-time, which allows for really precise and quick fuel injector control.

EDIT: I'm wrong. LAP3 has an equivalent setup.

But what if you have catless downpipes and dont use 02 sensors

So what is the Posi-Tap showing in their installation guide? Is that a different sensor?

This is true. JB4 you're limited to keeping all emission control intact. Which is fine for me, I personally think we all have a responsibility to keep the air as clean as we can. The difference in power with no cat vs a good high flow cat is minimal. Not worth the toxic smell and potential for getting in trouble with the law for me.

Oops. Looks like I was wrong. *Embarrassed*

Whereas im in Mississippi and they dont care about exhaust, and im more of an all opened up straight piped person, coming from 4 diesel trucks. So you cant do downpipes with jb4?

Understandable!

Aftermarket downpipes will work with JB4, but only with cats. Verified this with BMS, because it's my plan. Looks like you and I are gonna be pretty dang similar in our mods!

So you can only do cat-in downpipes with Jb4? if so thats lame, i want all the noise and airflow, my buddy can throw flames.

That's what they told me. Maybe there's a workaround that they don't advertise, but I'm fine with that. I've played around a fair amount with different high flow cats, and I'm not worried at all. Like I said above, I prefer it that way.
