Greetings to all! After twenty years with a Hyundai Santa Fe then a Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, we took the step up to Genesis and picked up our new Saville Silver GV70 2.5T Prestige yesterday

. We found the Hyundai Forums to be a very useful resource and are happy to have found the Genesis Forums. Thanks to everyone for their posts, advice and information, which we used to help us make our decisions and will use as we drive forward! Happy motoring to all!
Welcome. You will find a wealth of information here. In addition to monitoring my vehicles subforum (GV60), I also monitor "What's new" followed by "New Posts". I simply peruse the latter for issues that could apply to me (e.g., my info system is the same one as the G90; the powertrain on the new Electrified GV70 is the same as the one on my GV60P; etc.) or ones where I think my experience can add value (e.g., discussions of dealerships, warranties, etc.). I would suggest you could do the same.
I have learned much here. For example, there are many EV driving style options ranging from exactly like driving an ICE to one pedal driving. I discovered the one that I like best from another forum member. While you didn't acquire an EV, it is merely an example.
I would suggest that you add your location to your position. You don't need someone from northern Canada telling you how to deal with the extreme cold if you are in Miami nor do you need a Phoenician telling you about surviving the heat if you are in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan. Advice that you receive and provide will be better if others know your approximate location. While your post title does that, it won't carryover to other posts.
You might also stay on the Hyundai forum. While I am not very knowledgeable about Hyundai corp internal combustion vehicles, I believe that some of the Hyundais share a powertrain with Genesis as well as other matters such as ADAS features. Genesis is still a fairly new brand and there are not that many out there so information on "cousin" vehicles might prove useful (an extreme example: in a year and a half I have seen 8 GV60s in my market which is one of the original 8 states where the vehicle was being sold).
One of the features that turned me onto Genesis was the tendency of car makers to copy Tesla and go to a "minimalist" design ethos. That is what they call it; I call it, to coin a new term, "cheapist" and it doesn't belong on a luxury vehicle. I want buttons and switches for matters that I might adjust while driving and Genesis, so far, seems to have done the best job at doing that. On the other hand, I walk for exercise in a mall that has a Polestar showroom (and Lucid and Tesla as well). The new Polestar 3 looks terrific. At least it did until I walked into the showroom and looked inside. While it did have a display in front of the driver (unlike the Tesla 3 and Y), it appeared to otherwise put everything on the tablet. An immediate turnoff for me.
Many people go to Genesis as a cheaper alternative to securing a luxury vehicle compared to a BMW/Mercedes/Audi. I was a BMW owner and went to Genesis because I disliked the recent BMW designs and Genesis was the only luxury car company that make a vehicle that fit my basic requirements (power, small size and luxury accouterments). It is not difficult to find vehicles that combine 2 of my 3 requirements but at the time, for EVs, only Genesis met all three. A year and a half later, I would still do it.
So...welcome and enjoy!
