  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Equus (2011-2016)
Hi everyone, I'm thinking about buying a Hyundai Equus Ultimate (2011 to 2013 model).

Questions:

a) What's the difference between the 2011, 2012 and 2013 model? Is there a year that's better than others in terms of quality of materials and reliability?

b) How reliable is the car? What are the things that tend to break down and how much do they cost?

Finally, if there is anything that I should be aware of before this purchase, please let me know.

Thank you to all in advance. Truly is appreciated.

I have a 2014 model and have owned for about 4 years. My maintenance cost so far 0 dollars. Only issue I had was the rear center console broke when my child yanked it from the side. Dealership fixed it for no cost to me. All oil changes, vipers..regular maintenance things have been free from dealership. I have never been to dealership and they are happy to pickup my car with a loaner in my driveway. So far so good.
