If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Should I get this done at the dealership or is it better to get the parts and take to a shop? Any suggestions on what to get? A6EAA109-EB4A-49AF-82CB-07181A732C85.webp

Wow, they want to replace the battery twice just to make sure. I would too if I were charging 411 bucks.
No idea if you are open to this, but the filters are easy DIY.
Brakes should be done at a brake or wheel and hub shop.

Not sure of your milage but I have a 2016 sedan with 20k just replaced front pads and rotors myself. Easy job, parts were roughly $300. Thats new rotors not a resurface job. They will charge you damn near the price of a new part so may as well replace. Are you sure the rears need replaced already? What was measurement in 32nds on the rear pads?

Really surprised they want to resurface rotors. I’m guessing your brake pedal has been pulsating? New aftermarket rotors are cheap these days, especially from some place like Rockauto. Two of my local auto parts houses don’t even turn rotors anymore. A $400 battery, gimme a break. Guess the dealer must be getting it from Tesla?

Yeah I drive a lot so I’m at 68k miles on mine. And that’s what I was thinking might as well just replace them vs resurfacing.

Seejay... Good one.

O'reilly has the battery for $185. With a couple hand tools (10,12mm) you can replace it in five minutes. If you have access to compressed air, just blow out the air filters with that. No need to replace. $300+ savings.

No, I'd not do any of these at the dealer. Pep Boys has a H9/95R AGM battery with a 4 year warranty for $150. As for the brakes, anyone can do these. I'd recommend buying parts online, especially if you want to stay OE. Filters can be installed by you. No need grossly overpriced installations.

You can certainly buy the cheaper AGM batteries, but they're the wrong spec for the car even if they say 95R. They aren't $150 for the same capacity or anything.

I would try another dealer, on the 4.6 I tried to save around $100 changing breaks with a ‘break specialist’ and regretted doing so, as the vehicle was never the same. Just my two cents.

The O'Reilly battery has the same specs as the stock Hyundai batt. 1050 cranking amps. Exact fit.

Not quite. The charging system economy maps are dependent on the battery meeting a certain discharge capacity over time. With an under-spec battery, the system will tend to keep the alternator engaged full time instead of cycling off to the battery at low load cruise. All the sub-$200 95R AGM batteries run the gamut in capacity, it ranges from 50Ah to 85Ah. That's why the "Dual Purpose" rating is important, in addition to the higher capacity.

Geez... Hope that they buy you dinner first!

New front rotors are a must, the Gen didn't like the resurfacing. My local shop did the fronts for $350, said the rears were fine - I would have done them myself, but it's hot AF here in Houston right now.

$411 is Highway Robbery for a battery. If you go with one with the same specs, you'll be fine. Filters are pretty easy. A little time consuming for the engine because you have to remove the engine compartment cover & braces

Is that 25 amp/hours difference worth $225? I would lean towards two $185 batts that have six years worth of warranty.

My wife's old 2007 Santa Fe batt lasted seven years (non AGM). Replacement was $100. My 2015/45 mo. old batt sat for 30 days without starting or charging and it was toast. Absolutely nothing would revive it. So much for the benefits of a $400 battery.

No, but it's worth the $100 difference. Don't buy the OEM battery.

All that work half the price any where else.

Al that work half the price any where else.
IMHO, ‘every else’ really depends on the location.
Things have got expensive in the last 3 years or so...

Cannot imagine what they could have done wrong, especially if installing new rotors instead of turning. Disc brakes are beyond easy. Last set I did on my SHO took me under an hour, in my home garage, using a floor jack.

I just replaced the front rotors and pads on my 2016 and this car was the easiest brake job I have ever done. Drilled and slotted rotors with carbon/ceramic pads $200. I swear I spent more time cleaning my rims while they were off than doing the brake job.

The air filters are robbery, it literally takes less than 15 minutes and $25 in filters. While you're doing the air filter, kill two birds and spend $8 to swap your turn signal bulbs. Buy the filters online at Advance or Autozone and you routinely get 25% off. I also agree on the brakes, you can do it for much cheaper and get higher quality materials.
