Quoting 101 - Please Read

Hey! If you're not getting "quoting" right - don't feel bad! You're not alone. I've been going in and helping people for a while now - and I really don't mind. My only fear is that as things get busier - and they have been - I'm afraid I'll miss more and more messages where people are replying to others - but their messages are never seen.

So I put together this little tutorial, if you will, to show what I mean by posting OUTSIDE the QUOTE tags... If you have ANY questions at all - please don't hesitate to ask! That's what I'm here for!

Good that you did this. May I also mention, you can cut out some of the message you are quoting too if not pertinant. You may want to comment on a couple of sentences and you can delete the rest of the material easily, just leave the quote brackets in place.

You should be able to do more or less the same thing without editing if you just highlight the text you want to quote - and then click "reply" in the little box that pops up...

OK, I learned something too. Same result, different method but with more versatility

Maybe a little safer also since there is always a danger that someone will edit inside the posted reply and inadvertently unbalance the brackets which badly messes up the formatting.
