  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Flew from Salem, OR to KC this Wed to receive delivery on R-Spec at Shawnee Mission Hyundai. It was a good delivery experience. Was picked up at the airport and on my way within an hour. I have had a 2009 and 2011 Genesis 4.6, and after 1900 quick miles I have these comparison notes:
1. Gas mileage is at least as good as my previous Genesis, maybe a bit better. I run 87 octane exclusively, but that is another story. My first tank was the dealer-filled premium. Car continued to loosen and seemed to get better mileage with each tank.
2. Ride height is EXACTLY the same as my 2011, which probably means the same springs. Shocks are stiffer. A bit less roll, but the 2011 was pretty "flat" to begin with. Ride is a tad stiffer than the 2011. It is more like a true sports sedan, and more BMW like. I like it.
3. The transmission response is worse than the engine telegraph on a naval vessel! Jeez is this thing slow to react. I have a Sprint Booster from my earlier Genesis that I will try to mount. More later on this.
4. It has a lot more power than my tweaked 2011. For example, I passed a semi beginning at 70 mph and crossed his bow at 97 mph - so said Officer Friendly of Nebraska State Patrol. This officer must have the dullest beat in the state. Imagine a deserted flat western highway at 6 am waiting in a hidey-hole for that rare offender?

congats on the 5.0 R Spec

the transmission really is slow

I'm complaining big time about it :(

Pop a K&N filter under the hood

the result is pleasing :D

while it doesn't help the trans at all - you can feel there's a bit more pick up

all in all - a worthwhile investment :)

Exact same place I bought my Rspec from. Except I had mine delivered. Good crew over there.

Cheers
