  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I polished my rims this weekend, and boy do they clean up. I like the rim myself, how do y'all feel about them? They are pretty unique for the R-spec, I think.

You know what they say, right!?

I guess I failed to mention, they are stock rims, sorry:o Just wondering how y'all like the stock R-spec rims?

I'm one of those who actually like the stock R Spec rims. I've been looking for replacements but haven't found any I like as much as the stock ones.

+1 ^^^

I even photo-shopped BBS's once and my Wife said the stock rims looks better.

Wish the rears were a bit wider.

One of the only few things Hyundai seems to have it done right being labeled the r-spec badge.
IMO, it should have included Brembo brake, staggered tire (NSNEXT did mention it) and a rear lip spoiler.

Eh. I love the wheels too and haven't found a suitable replacement. However, to me R-Spec implies performance. R-Spec wheels are heavy as hell (I read 38 lbs?) and this is bad for performance in more ways than one. This car comes nowhere close to needing Brembos. I don't expect to ever see a Genesis sedan at the local track days because it's not a good platform for it. The stock calipers are more than what any one here will ever need. Larger calipers ≠ quicker stops. Plus, where already have upgraded calipers and larger rotors compared to other Genesis models.

38Ibs? That would be crazy... would love to know if anyone's put them on a scale. At 38Ibs, there's a lot of incentive to switch them out to something lighter.

No way.... even if they ~28lb. that still pretty heavy.

Last week, I had my wheels rebalanced and rotated at local Discount Tires store, I've seen them taking them off and on and they'd tell me something about their weight....but they did not.

I have an R-Spec wheel with a flat I can take off, but no scale. :p

They are heavy, but forged wheels (code for really big $$$) will be the only way to get serious weight off wheels this size. Even with wheels 15 lbs. lighter, it's still a big car.

Yes, you cannot discount 4000 pounds. Big tires, or sticky tires just make the side loads higher. During one of Car and Driver's 200 MPH autobahn tests a wheel on a Corvette broke at about 160. Only some seriously good driving by a pro racer saved the car. you don't want to skimp and lose a wheel on this car at 100+

they are nice for stock rims. they are now home to my winter tires. the new accord rims look a lot like the rspec rims

+4 ^^^ on the OEM wheels.

I too have shopped the aftermarket and did not find a more attractive replacement.

I'd be interested to see what they look like with the machined surfaces polished.

I also agree that a staggered fitment would be good. The Rspec would benefit from a wider rear tire. I understand Hyundai saw the light and staggered the tires on the '15s.

This is the wheel I'm thinking about.. Maybe in black too. 19x10 in rear and 19x8.5 front.
