  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Whenever I turn off my car and go back later when I turn on the car the radio that was previously on a xm3 station reverts to a xm1. It doesn't happen every time but probably 80-90% of the time.
It is frustrating because I have to go back to xm3 and even then it doesn't go back to the correct station but to the first setting on xm3. Has anyone else had this or is there a setting that I am missing??

I drive a 2013 Genesis with Tech package.

thanks for any ideas!

I hope I'm in tune with what your problem is. Let me tell you MY story, just in case, and see if it's the same as our '09 TechPack:

We don't listen to SatRadio all the time...mostly when we travel. Soooo, we started a trip, tuned in to the Sat and got nothing but Channel 1 and 2 (radio i.d. # info). Sent a refresh to the radio and all was good 10 minutes later. Stopped for lunch, shut the car off, came back and zip...no Sat radio. Sent refresh and again, all good...till the next time we powered the car off. When the radio was just turned off during travel, it came back ok. During the trip we had contacted XM and seemed all was ok on their end. At the end of the trip I made a trip to the dealer. After a day of checking and talking and explaining to the tech what was going on we came to the conclusion that the unit in the truck was bad. For our '09 it was not under warranty any longer. Ahhhh...but THANK GOD the wife bought the car without me and purchased an extended warranty. An agent stopped by, checked the unit, and ok'd the $4,000.00 replacement unit, minus our $100.00 deductible. Like is great on XM again. So...if you power the car off and come back to no XM radio but all your preset's are still showing on the screen...try a refresh via the XM website (from your smart phone). If that works, you have a bad unit in the truck that holds the SatRadio info when power is turned off. Good luck!!

thanks. I contacted Hyundai and tried the reset. Unfortunately it hasn't worked. When trying reset nothing really happens....do you get a message on screen? I still sometime get the station back on (xm3) and sometimes it still reverts to xm1. I plan to call the number provided and see if they can help.

NB MIKE: You should be able to "refresh" your XM radio via your smart phone / internet. That's what we had to do in order to get all the stations back. Hyundai can't "refresh XM". All you are doing is getting a new signal from XM. Our problem WAS the unit in the trunk not holding the info when the key is turned off. Each time you shut the engine down and restart the car you'll have to go to https://care.siriusxm.com/retailrefresh_view.action to get your channels back... Again...good luck!
