  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

In my new 2015 Genesis Ultimate I have begun to notice my FM radio stations in the Chicagoland area (major FM stations) fade in and out. Anyone having similar problems with radio ? Perhaps I can make this less noticeable by adjusting my settings ? I made sure surround sound is on - so what gives

Have you gotten your windows tinted by chance? Not sure if this would affect it or not. I have no issues with my radio here in South Florida.

I believe all the antennas are in the fin on the roof.

Try disabling HD. See if you get a consistent standard def FM signal.

I agree. I believe what the OP is experiencing is HD radio signal kicking in and dropping.

The AM & FM antenna is imbedded in the rear window. As noted in the manual, it says to avoid adding metallic coatings (tinting)... as it will degrade the broadcast signals.

And it also says not to clean the inside of the rear window with a cleaner? So how are you supposed to clean it as it will get a haze/film on it over time?

Thanks for the tips, problem fixed. No my windows are not tinted - it was the radio set to HD - turned off HD on radio and no more problems with sound fading in and out. You guys are awesome !:grouphug:

That's great news. Now can you tell me how to turn on HD? I have read the manual and gone through everything in the car and cannot for the life of me figure out how to turn on the HD channels.

You can access the HD settings while in the radio and pressing the menu button.

There should be a check box to enable HD radio, and then when it detects an HD signal it will tune in the channel automatically (assuming your radio station broadcasts in HD and you are in range).

I noticed that sometimes when I switch from XM to FM and then the radio tunes the HD channel, there is a big jump in volume. If I change FM stations there is not a jump in volume between HD and non HD stations.
