Radio Voice Commands

I thought that when I first bought the car giving the voice command "XM" would turn audio on with XM station. Not the case now. Radio will come on if I say FM or FM2 etc and then I can say XM and it will switch over. Also can not turn radio off with a voice command.

Why push the voice command button then have to say a command when you can just push the off button?

To power up, the voice command is "XM Radio ON"
"Radio ON" is the command to power up the AM or FM side.

If the system is power up on some other input, saying "XM" should be enough to switch to XM.

homeofstone-I understand what you are saying but I just thought that there was a command to turn audio system off and perhaps my system was not functioning properly. Mike-I will try that command but if just say FM, the audio does come on but no so when I say XM.

OK. When I press voice command button on wheel and say XM Radio, it does respond with XM but does not turn on the audio system. Any other radio command will turn on the audio system such as FM etc.

The voice command, "Turn AV Off" turns my radio off. 2011 4.6

Sorry for the delay. This morning with the A/V system completely off, I tried the voice command "XM" and the system turned on and brought up the last tuned XM station. I also tried this with the commands "FM" and "AM" and all worked as advertised.
