  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Have a 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6. It has started to get warmer here, and lately I have returned to the car, and found the rain sensor housing hanging down from the window. The adhesive doesn't seem to be able to handle the hot weather any longer. I have had the car now for 4 years, and this is the first time this has started happening.

Has anyone experienced this and what did you use to remedy the problem?
  • A replacement adhesive pad (part number - link?)
  • Double sided tape
  • A tiny bead of silicone placed carefully and clamped overnight?

I'm in the same situation, and would love a solution.

I'd be willing to bet the adhesive is 3M automotive adhesive. If you know someone that runs a glass shop or body shop you might ask them what is used. Even if you don't know someone, you might be able to call a glass shop and get the answer.

It is clear though. I haven't seen clear 3m double sided tape before.

I'd call around to see if someone will give you that info then.

My 2012 gene rspec has same issue. the glue partially separated apart from the windshield. I talked to the local windshield repair shop. they said the glue is come with the glass together. i guess it will be pretty hard to find the adhesive part. (FYI, my windshield is not OEM, it is FUYAO). I have to press my sensor about 1-2 seconds when i need the auto wiping to work correctly.
