  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have used RainX for 20+yrs. While I like Griots for a lot of things, they are a boutique seller, so one has to be selective about what works and what doesn't and what is a $20 version of a perfectly fine $5 AutoZOne off the shelf option. I have no problem with rainx, but does anyone have experience with both that may be able to verify which lasts longer and how much of the sealant has to be used vs rainx. As far as rainx, I will go through half of a little squeeze bottle (not the trigger spray bottle) doing a full job on the genny (I do the whole car twice).

So there we are, anyone have anything to add?

I also have used and liked RainX for 20+ years. Good stuff, but it seems that an application doesn't last as long as it used to.

I'm also interested in hearing from anyone about alternatives

When I'm done detailing a vehicle, I finish with Adam's Polishes H2O Guard and Gloss. I have not found anything better. On paint, trim, lights, glass etc. When applied properly to a clean vehicle, the water beads right off every surface for weeks-months depending on how often you use your car and in what conditions. Very few products I will say are head and shoulders above all their competition as there's a LOT of competition in the detailing product world, but that stuff right there can't be beat for price, effectiveness, and ease of application.
