  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Okay, has this happened to anyone, and should I be concerned?

Driving home yesterday and my left (driver's side) turn signal started flashing rapidly. This usually indicates a burnt out signal bulb.

Got home and did an outward inspection. The passenger side blinked normal and all bulbs were present. The driver side blinked rapidly, HOWEVER, ALL bulbs were also present and working (front signal, mirror signal, and rear signal). I'm like what the heck! Stopped and restarted the car twice, it still kept doing it (with positive visual inspection).

I waited about 20 minutes, then went out and started the car. Low and behold, the driver's side signal started blinking normal again! And, it has been fine ever since.

Has anyone else experience a false positive with their turn signal, and what did you do about it?

Thanks.

Are you the original owner? There may be some LED replacements hyper flashing?
I am the second owner (of a pre-certified lease back). So, I'm quite positive that all lights, etc. would be original equipment.

What yr is your car? I'm wondering if it's a '15, would the DRL filament going out trip the turn signal since only one is lighting up?

My apologies. Forgot to include, it's a 2016 Ultimate AWD. It just seemed strange that all lights were working, during the rapid flashing.

I'm going to mention this weirdness to the dealer at my next oil change and see if this has happened before. I just read some posts regarding faulty wiring harnesses that were being replaced.

That is odd. I would swap bulb sides and see if the problem moves to the passenger side. Just make sure you wipe the bulbs if you handle them with bare hands so any oils don't create a hot spot.

If the hyperflash persists on the driver side (only) you have an electrical issue down the line. If it moves, you're only looking at $4 for new bulbs.

I have had this happen. The bulb is about to fail and will need replaced soon.

This is happening to me in my 2015 Ultimate hypertrac. Any resolutions found?
