Tried reading through the steering wheel but my head does not fit through the opening.is this possible? I keep having to click on the 'read' pop up on screen but this is an hassle for me.
I tried using voice command such as ' read text' but doesn't seem to work.
is there a way to read text through steering wheel? this seems to be a bad design
I'm really hoping he's referring to the text-to-speech function.Note to self: Avoid G70s when driving in San Antonio.
If you have an iPhone you can just do a long press on the speak button on the steering wheel and say “read my text”. I know it works with Bluetooth, not positive about usb cable. It will read it out through the car speakers.I think @juanlee337 is referring to when you receive a text on your phone, and you're only connected via Bluetooth. You get a pop-up on the infotainment screen that says you got a text message, and you can either read it or ignore it. The only way I've ever been able to have the car read the message to me is to physically press the "read" icon on the pop-up. Despite it being VERY nice that the car can read out loud your message, it still is a small distraction to reach over and press the icon. I think @juanlee337 is asking if you can have the car read your new messages simply by pressing the voice command button located on the steering wheel....
... personally I haven't tried the voice command button to read my messages, but I swear I saw a command, something like "play my messages," where it will read the newest ones. I always reach over and press the "read" icon to have the car read it to me. But, now you've got me curious. I'll have to try some voice commands next time I drive.
Lastly, let's just be clear: I think we all already know that when using Android Auto you can just use Google's voice command to read your messages. But, some of us (ie, me) don't like to plug in our phones when getting in the car, hence this discussion.
