  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am sure that just about everyone has seen the recent Buick TV commercial on that has been aired about a thousand times. It shows a bunch of people who can't find their friend parked in a Buick, or when told a car is a Buick, they say "that's not a Buick" even though the car they are looking at has the exact same Buick tri-shield logo on the grill as all Buicks dating back to at least the late 1950's.

When companies show commercials that are that insulting to my intelligence, not only would I never buy a Buick based on the stupidity of the commercial alone, but I usually change the channel when the commercial comes on. They must think it is a good commercial, since they keep replaying so often.

I actually just seen that commercial around 15 minutes ago. I do agree that it's very silly.

I love the current Genesis commercial with the kid ogling the pretty girl.

On my first drive home yesterday with my new 3.8, a truck blew a transmission in front of me on an on-ramp and screeched to a sudden stop. The car slammed on the brakes before I could even react. First thing I thought of was that commercial.

I watched that just now and it reminds me of this commercial! :D

Hmmm. I don't think the Buick commercial has anything to do with old people. There was also a couple of younger people who claimed they could not see the Buick in the parking lot. The point is that the Buick logo on the front grill of 2014 models looks exactly like the Buick logo when those ladies were a lot younger (going all the way back to the 1950's), so the commercial makes no sense whatsoever. Even the sheet metal is not much different than that of the last 10 years.
