  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

ok..I want to buy 2.0T gray/black A/T..

The cheapest offer I got is OTD $23.5k.(I live in san jose. tax 9.25%)..

I have a dealer that said he will beat whatever offer by $150..
so..I guess I have OTD $23.45k.

I know that the price has been increased..so I was going to settle with OTD $23k.

and the dealer emailed me saying ""We don't lose money to sell cars"..

what do u think?

should I just go for it?..or, wait for 2012 comes out ?

I would walk. There will be a dealership that welcome you.

our local dealership doesn't treat us very nicely so I took a trip else where.

well..I pretty much emailed every single dealer within 3 hours driving range..

I really have no idea which dealer I should go try.

anybody live near san jose?..give me suggestion..

I emailed fresno, san jose, fremont, SF, livermore, dublin, fairfield..and so on.

I think the problem with "emailing" the dealer to get a fair price is unrealistic. Most dealers want you in their showroom to work with you on the car. Take your chances and visit a showroom and start the haggling. I know its a pain, but dont expect a great deal without putting some work into it. IMHO:rolleyes:

I agree completely and stated as much when this subject first came up. No dealer is going to lay all his cards on the table unless the buyer is actually at the table ready to deal seriously. For all they know, these price requests are from a competing dealer who is on a fishing expedition to find out how low a competitor is willing to go.

use online quoting service from like overstock, autotraders, etc... they are pretty good about contacting you back.

It seems incredulous to me that you place so little value on your time that you would drive 3 hrs down, spend hours in the dreaded sales office and then 3 hrs home to save $150. Not to mention the cost of fuel to do the trip.

actually I got that offer with the nearest dealer from my place..
so I was going to take that offer after I emailed to dealers to get low price.

and I used one of the web..right now the price is $21797.
I saw other threads..people paid around OTD $22k-22.5k near here..although it was mostly last year.

This is first time buying new car from dealer..
I really have no idea where I need to aim..

You aren't going to get a price from most places without going to the dealership without picking a car, driving, and making a commitment to buy assuming the price is acceptable.

I sell for a KIA dealership, and we are not allowed to talk numbers until the above has been done, so i'm willing to bet you'll get farther by going through the process.

That being said, I wouldn't make a huge deal out of a couple dollars..

Your dealer would lose a sale to me...Last 2 cars I bought, I did with a phone call.
I don't have time to play salesman/sales manager bullshit games..nor do I want to
