From my 2018 G80 manual so it should be the same. Can't seem to find this in manual, does anyone know how many quarts is needed? I have a 2015 Genesis 5.0.
From my 2018 G80 manual so it should be the same.
Front (AWD)/rear differential oil
Front (AWD) 0.74 US qt. (0.7 l) HYPOID GEAR OIL API GL-5 75W/85
Rear 1.48 US qt. (1.4 l) (SK HK SYN GEAR OIL 75W/85 or equivalent
HelloThanks! Much appreciated!
Your RWD car still has a rear differential, and the oil in it should still be changed every so often. With AWD, you would have a front one to change as well, but either way, you have a rear differential. This is a silly questions but I have a 3.8 2012 sedan but I think its only the RWD version so I shouldn't have a Diff fluid to change as this would only apply to the AWD version (dint know there was one).....

Thanks for the quick update so at 72,000 miles you'd recommend doing this ?Your RWD car still has a rear differential, and the oil in it should still be changed every so often. With AWD, you would have a front one to change as well, but either way, you have a rear differential.
I don't think that it is really needed at 73K miles, but you are also around ten years on it, so I would change it based on years, not miles. Thanks for the quick update so at 72,000 miles you'd recommend doing this ?
Same fluid, washers and concept as noted in this thread?
Any headsup on whats the best way to do the drain/fill of the transmission fluid as well while I am at it?

Ha, no I understand that part and saw you posted in a few theads is why I askedI don't think that it is really needed at 73K miles, but you are also around ten years on it, so I would change it based on years, not miles.
I'll skip the transmission question. Beliefs on that are almost religious for some people.
Personally, full fluid exchanges have worked just fine for me. However, it is incredibly important that they use the exact correct fluid, and not whatever supposedly universal fluid that they just happen to have.Ha, no I understand that part and saw you posted in a few theads is why I asked.
One of my local dealers quoted me $250 for a "Reverse Flush" and said they replace all the fluid so wondering if its worth doing it?
I am kinda handy but the above pricing seems reasonable for the transmission but not sure if "flush" is a good thing as opposed to just a drain and fill x3....

Open(remove) the fill and drain plugs(fill plug first), let the transmission fluid drain out, close the drain plug and then use a oil hand pump to pump in new fluid into the fill hole until the transmission oil start to weep out the fill hole, close the fill plug. Thanks for the quick update so at 72,000 miles you'd recommend doing this ?
