Rear end bump at low speed. Some of trunk functions not working anymore, specifically the "lock and close trunk" button. Regular close trunk works fine. When put car in reverse, get display indicating trunk/rear parking issue. Just wondering/hoping that there might be a "magic reset" that might eliminate the warnings (assuming there is really no damage, and something just got tripped when bumped). I found a "recalibrate" procedure online, but a bit hesitant to try it (it's my husband's car and I don't want to mess it up).
Visited a body shop that did some previous work, he saying sensors may be damaged, will have to tear apart and looking at $3-4k. Before we decide whether to deal with the expense (other driver insurance unclear/perhaps non-existent), hoping for some help here.
Any insight/ideas are appreciated.
