  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

If this is a single part , i would not pay for replacing it .
I am thinking the rubber liner between the lamp and glass would be a cheaper part .

that should be a warranty item if you still have warranty.

Mine did the same. It degraded and eventually broke off from the corners just as yours did. It is not that large of a problem for me but when driving at night the brake light does project a fair amount of light onto the rear window and back seat without it. I've just gotten accustom to it and would not purchase the entire light assembly if that was what is needed to fix it. I understand if others disagree. For me it's another data point in my experience with this vehicle. Car looks great and is fun to drive but based on my experience to date it is not meeting my expectations for quality.

Had the same problem on my 2015 and Hyundai covered it under warranty. If you're under 60K, i'd take it to the dealer.

With the hyundai dealership now . They are looking at it and have not confirmed yet if this will be replaced under warranty . They are going to call hyundai corporate to check up . They have quoted approx 190$ if its not in warranty .

After polite request - Hyundai Dealership was kind to order the rear high brake light for my car and replace it free.
It took around 2 weeks to get the part .

The cost of the brake light was approx $180 , and with labor it was billed approx $260 . I'm glad Hyundai is taking care of customers who are not even the first owners of the car.

Greetings,

Just had this done. Pretty much the same experience. 2 weeks to get the part and they replaced it for free.

Thanks for posting! This is where I found a solution when I discovered the issue. Then I joined the forum, lol

I have this same issue. Plan on getting it fixed at my 75000 check up. I bought the bumper to bumper extended warranty.
