  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My arm rest falls all the way down to the seat when I pull it down. I think it should stop above the seat. Cannot pull out drink holder. Am I missing something?

Dick, It should stop level. Had the same problem first few times I tried it. Somehow it "self-corrected". Mine stops now in the correct position. Seems to stay unless you push down. Try lowering and raising the center section, and setting at different recline angles, see if yours will reset. If not I'd add it to the dealer punch list.

Thanks for the feedback. I will add it to my punch list

So just brought my GV80 home and noticed the same problem with the 2nd row arm rest/cup holder. How exactly did you fix it? Mine goes right to the seat, doesn't appear to have any lock mechanism to keep it at level. Thanks!

Recline the seat a little and it will sit level. The seats from the factory come upright but most will recline them a bit once they sit in them.

Thanks! Yes that did it. Didn't even realize they reclined until I sat in them.

Thank you so much for this information! We just brought our new GV80 home today and were struggling with the same issue! Thank you everyone on the Forum for great info!

This a unnecessary issue for a brand new car is there a factory recall on this part? Or directions on how to stop it from falling all the time? I don't want my rear passenger to keep having to adjust there seat to make the arm rest work right.

Totally agree. This is something g Genesis needs to address.

Talked to the dealer. He checked 3 or 4 other cars on the lot. They all do this unless you recline the drivers side rear seat a bit. Definitely something Genesis should fix.

I have the same problem. Any drink you put in it will spill unless you're reclined, but who wants to be reclined all the time? Genesis needs to fix this!

did you adjust the seat back position? slight recline leveled out my arm rest fine

Yep, the seat has to be reclined to get the armrest level. Not a great design for sure.

Hi, when rear seat passengers use the arm rest, it breaks down to the leather seat. Cannot safely put drinks in the cup holders. Genesis dealership has fixed it twice but recently broke down again. Others experience this problem?

Not with mine.

If you will tilt the back seat a little back it will level up the arm rest. Most people don't sit with the seat straight up and down so it's supposed to be tilted back a little bit. :)
