  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Have you had any problem with these plastic hinges. Both hinges broke on my 2014 Equus. It cost me $335 to have the hinges replaced. My friend had the same car and one of his hinges is broken. We never sit in the back seat and have no idea how this would happen. It seems there is a design flaw. Anybody else have this problem?

Yes, I had a 14 Equus and the rear seat console hinge broke on its own. Dealer fixed under warranty.

On my 2014 Equus both hinges broke yesterday. My niece asked me why the lid would not close. I'm like you I'm never in the back nor use the armrest. I'll check to see if I can get the warranty people to decide if I can get replaced

Had mine replaced on my 2014 in August under warranty. No idea how it broke, but seems to be a known issue for HMA.

Yes. Same thing happened to us. Dealer tried to charge us $3k+taxes. To replace. We opted out paid $160. Just to tell us it was stuck which we already knew. That hinges broke!. We never sit in the back seat either.

did for me as well. I did purchase the extended $100k bumper to bumper platinum coverage through Hyundai..not sure that made a difference, but the hinge should never have broken.
