  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

After further investigation from a body shop
The rear windows will roll down during a car wash due to water, sleeping, in the real windows weatherstrip that goes across the back windows, when the water falls in water drips on the motor of the window, causing them to malfunction and roll down windows to fix the problem rear motors were removed and installed gasket maker around the rubber seal that goes against the motor. It’s a manufacturers error due to weatherstripping getting old and cracking. I wash the vehicle three times today and went through three different car washes windows worked fine. Hope this helps 2011, genesis 4.6 L.

The cause makes a lot of sense. Good tip if it happens to others, thank you.

Not so sure about the manufacturer's error. How can they prevent the weatherstripping from getting old? I'm getting old too, should I blame my parents?

I had a similar problem, but it was water in the back windows. Turns out water was getting in the drivers door thru the two wires the go thru grommets out to the side view mirror. And the water was dripping right into a connector that talks to a module in the door that would fake the module into thinking I was leaning on the window down switch in the door. Fixed it by pulling the door liner and window trim piece (not as hard as I though it would be), and liberally applying dielectric grease on all the connectors, inside and out, to water-proof the connectors. Also, maybe most importantly, I put a liberal amount of the grease into the grommets of the two wires going out to the side view mirror. Haven't had any trouble with rain or car-washes since! (knock on wood).
