  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I just got new ceramic tints (llumar irx) - 30 % darkness. There is a maddening glare/light refraction issue with the rear window. Very visible at night, but also during the day). It's been 2.5 weeks since they were installed.

Does anyone have ideas on a fix? Anyone have tints where this has not occurred?

What did the installer say? Never saw anything like that. I have to wonder if it was done properly.

The installer was dumb founded. He reinstalled it but the refraction is still present. He also says he's done tons of G70s and I'm the first one to say anything.

He even reached out to his distributor who says it happens a few times a year. I can only assume that the installation is off.

Some tint films - especially ceramics - will have a visible haze when first installed. The rear glass is sloped, which makes it even more visible. After the film dries completely, that haze does go away.

That said, on a sloped rear glass, it's pretty common for the defroster lines to show up after being tint-filmed over. The more sloped the rear glass, the worse it is. On my Stinger, it is definitely worse than on the G70. I just got used to it though.
