  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ok, so I have been trying to figure out why my passenger side(Right) headlights,DRL and High beams look weak. I replaced the bulbs and tried to adjust the beam height. Frustrated, I began looking for a replacement assembly…….OMG!!!! $1000.00+!!!!

Can’t find a decent used one so I went back to the vehicle. Upon close scrutiny, I noticed that the internal light assembly(bezel and fish eye) aren’t seated properly. This is causing the weak beams and in adjustable height. Can’t seem to attach pics due to file size?

Anyway, is there a guide to disassembling this headlight unit so that I can re-seat the internals?

Thanks in advance,

Kurt

No guide through Hyundai. The only thing that you are supposed to change on those is the bulbs and ballast.

There are quite a few on car-part.com in the $500-600 range.

Do a search on YT for headlight disassembly. The clear bezel is glued on and it requires a heat gun or oven and lots of luck but you can get it apart. Another option is fabricate a tool out of welding rod (1/8" maybe?) to adjust the offending piece through the bulb access hole.

But if the outer lens is cracked, surely there is a way to replace the whole headlight assembly. After all, they sell the assembly.

Haven't found a Halogen one at that price

It seemed like you were asking how to disassemble it, not how to remove it.
Take the front bumper cover off.
Remove one bolt from the lower side of the assembly, and three from the top. Then there are two connectors to unplug.

Thanks, I've removed the assembly. Now I am trying to disassemble the assembly to correct the misaligned internals. Or find a reasonably priced replacement. Can't see spending over $1,000.00 for one. It has to be right side and Halogen.
