Recommendation For iPhone Holder?

My prior vehicle's iPhone holder (which mounted inside the cup holder) doesn't clear the lip of the cup holder cover. Any recommendations for a successful holder replacement? Thanks!

Can you put a spacer in the bottom to raise it up a bit?

Good idea, but the unit won't fit into the cup holder - its width is consistent from top to bottom and won't clear the open cover.

OK, but not all apps show up on GV80's CarPlay screen, wired or wireless, correct? Or is there something I'm missing here?

No, certainly not all. The important ones do. That, to my understanding, is not Apple's fault; they have to be programmed by the developer.
FWIW, you shouldn't be 'fiddling' with your phone while driving anyhow. (And, yes, I do occasionally too!)

All good - in particular I like having waze vs. onboard GPS. There's some waze functionality that's not displayed on carplay and remains with the iphone app - would be great to access both.

I use Waze almost exclusively when on the road; thru CarPlay. As long as I am on Waze, I use it for GPS directions also. Every bit as built in GPS with added benefit of construction, police, obstacles, etc!

Not in car right now, but i don't think you can set a destination from CarPlay, but you can from phone and then car from then on. Very minor inconvenience!

No, there are more useful features using both. In other words, what's displayed on carplay is augmented by additional functionality on the app.

Not to beat this to death, but not all of the functionality on waze (and other apps) show up on carplay. Understood that its likely up to the developer to write the necessary code for this. But regardless, all I'm looking for is an iphone holder that fits inside my GV80

I got this thing at the dollar tree for $1.25. I posted it in another forum and someone said it was available in black as well. for that price, I would give it a try, or do you just want one that goes in the cup rack? It fits my samsung S21 which is about the same size as my wife's iPhone 13 Max.

There is a magnetic one on Amazon with the same type of "fingers". May work for you if you have current enough iPhone with Magsafe. It will NOT fit the GV80's dash vents, but I believe it will work where Jhon shows.

I was looking for magsafe (magnetic) one to fit where Jhon shows, literally tried four of the most promisingly looking and none had the clamp wide enough to fit.

Car mounts!?

Just Picked up 2023 GV80. The wireless charger is useless for iPhone. Tried my old car mount but the vents are too thick. Anyone had any luck with a decent mount they found?

It is made for vents like mine was, but fits perfectly where I have it mounted. 39 bucks and it wireless charges too.

I have this and it does work. Check out my pictures in this thread a page or two back. Did you try rotating it? It’s confusing because one way it doesn’t fit and then if you twist it, it does.
