  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Happy New Year everyone! Has anyone been having an issue with remote start or simply starting in cold temps? 2022 G70 3.3 up in Canada. Whenever our temps hit -20 Celsius lately my car won’t start. I replaced the battery about a month ago so that’s not the issue, and I still get the odd day it won’t go. Most the time it starts, but sometimes it just won’t go. The app, the remote, or physically trying to start it, and it just won’t fire up. When I try physically starting it, it just hums almost like an electronic hum sound. Doesn’t even try turning over. If I fight with it for a good 3-4 minutes of constantly mashing the brake and hitting the button, it’ll eventually turn over and fire up. Haven’t brought to dealer yet, but if I do I know they’ll try replicating it and sure sh!t it’ll fire up each time. Just wondering if any of you experienced any similar issues? TIA!

I have a 2021 g70 3.3 with same problem. Had the car for two winters. Last year it happened twice, both when temps below freezing. This year it has happened every time when below freezing. Almost guaranteed that push button or fob remote start will not work. Remote start via phone usually works, but not always on first attempt. Tried mashing brakes as said by others but that has never worked. New battery did not solve problem. Getting recall taken care of next week and will tell them to look into it. Will not accept that they don’t find anything wrong, take best guess and replace/fix most likely source of problem…. I probably bought car owned by another person reporting same problem…

Follow up. Luckily when I got my car into dealer for recall it was 0F, so the car didn't start for dealer. They got two codes P169000 "immobilizer - smartra no response" and B281000 "can time out pgs/avm/frms/rvm". PCM connector was found to have a pin bent. After straightening pin the car started. I got the car back and the next morning it was 0F again. Car started fine. Seems the problem is fixed now.
