  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I usually only want to use the remote start feature when it is cold out. The few times I have used it, the A/C is turned on, which defeats the purpose.
I tried the “winter” setting 1st. I then tried to make a new preset but the A/C still turns on.
I have figured out the seat heater will not turn on but the other heated features seem to work.
Any one else have this issue or is there something I’m doing wrong?

It wouldn't surprise me that the A/C is on, in as far as that means the A/C light is illuminated on the instrument panel. As i understand it, the compressor runs and dehumidifies the air, helping defrost/defog the inside of the windows. should just be a function of what temperature the system is set on. Think about it this way...if you set the remote start temp at 70 or so on a cold day, when the car warms up, the air coming from the vents is warm, not cold, regardless of the A/C light being on, or not.

Mine G70 also doesn't seem to have a way to turn the seat warmer on remotely, despite there being an icon for it on the remote start app. That's a glitch for sure. They also need a way to extend run time when starting, but that's probably for another thread;)

For seat heating i was told is designed by Genesis like that for safety reason to avoid being heated and having something left behind on top of the seats can ignite.

I’m not so much worried about the seat as I am wanting to know why the A/C is on when I use the winter start up setting. So much for warming it up.

The Auto Defrost will turn it on. Cars have been using the AC for defrost in winter for at least 30 years. Are you getting warm air once the water temperature is up?
