  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is it possible to remove that back deck carpet under the sub to take a look at a couple things or does that involve removing the rear seats. I see a lot of teardowns but most are the entire thing and not just that item.
This is in a 2012 Sedan

You mean like this:

Start by removing the weather seal along the back of the trunk near the bottom of the rear window. Be careful because a tar like adhesive is used and gets on everything. You will notice several black metal clips that look like bands. Push these up to release them from the metal edge. After that disconnect the trunk lights and carefully drop the upper rear insulation shelf. It is attached with several plastic body clips and is tucked into the other panels on the sides and back. As you can see in the picture it will drop down giving lots of space to "tinker".
