  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

After 1 too many nails/screws, I decided to replace my OEM tires today. I had been researching for a while and decided to try the Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3 Elect tires as I wanted better performing tires than the OEM tires.

During my drive home, everything felt better, cornering, stopping, etc....so far I am extremely happy with the change. I'll need some more driving time to see if my initial reaction holds true.

These are the tires I bought:

I did something similar but since I live in a warm climate I chose ultra performance summer tires: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. It is a world of difference compared to the Primacy tour AS tires that came with the car. Almost like two different cars.

Just wanted to add to this. I just got rid of the underperforming stock tires and replaced them with ultra high performance AS tires (Conti ExtremeContact DWS 06 plus) and the car is just so much better it's honestly like driving a whole different car. Thinking back to all of the YouTube reviews I watched where they laughed at how incompetent the car is under Boost... it's honestly just negligent to sell a car with 483hp that weighs 5,000 lbs with those Primacy tires.

Years ago I went to a tire shop to replace my OEM tires. The salesman asked me if I would like the same tires. I said no, I was not happy with their performance. The salesman told me that it is normal for the tire manufacture to cut corners on a tire manufacturing to win the contract with the automotive company. Also, if I was to buy the identical tire of the shelf it would be better than the ones currently on my vehicle.
I wonder if this is what you guys are seeing in your OEM tires.

One more comment. Some XL load rated tires do meet the specs for a heavy EV like the GV60. But I feel more comfortable with an HL load rating and I found that there is an HL rated Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in the 21" size for the GV60Performance model. That is what I chose when I replaced all my tires. Discount Tires had to retrieve the tires from South Carolina.

I'm not in need of tires yet, but I did want to followup with y'all who put on these different tires with a couple of questions:

1) Does your current opinion of the different tires still hold true now?

2) How did they affect ride quality? This one is pretty important to me, as the roads around where I live are awful.

3) How did they affect road noise? This one is also very important to me.

My opinion hasn't changed - a world of difference with the new tires. I think the ride quality has improved, the car is less "squirmy" if that makes sense. Going around corners and stopping is more controlled.

I never really paid attention to road noise, but with the new tires, it is still very quiet if I don't have any music playing

It seems the OEM tires significantly underperform the milage warranty since so many owners seem to be replacing them already.
I will need to replace all 4 of my Michelin Primacy Tour AS (OEM) tires soon due to wear as well. I have 26,000 miles on the tires that should be 45,000 mile tires. Did you guys have to replace them that early? I understand that have heavy EVs but it is also factored in by riding on an XL tire.
Did anyone pursue the OEM tire warranty for the pro-rata value?

Here is a comparison of the Pirellis vs the Contis. Both have their plusses.
It looks like Ps are a little better handling and comfort, but Cs are better in winter.
Agree on getting HL vs XL if you can (and certainly not SL).

Michelin does not cover OE tires for mileage. See attached doc.

I thought about just replacing the original tires right after purchase but they seemed reasonable for casual driving and very quiet... So I tried increasing pressures at the front and that definitely improved overall handling and steering feel at the expense of some ride quality... As a bonus the range has also shot up way past the official claims... Over 300 in November cold (in ECO mode)... Oh mine's a '26 with the larger battery...
